Description
You will be interested in this book if you are beginning a scanning project and would like to know how to begin, including suggestions on naming conventions, resolutions, workflow, and scanners. A large family photo and document scanning project is a major investment of time and energy, not to mention money, and sometimes both.
This book starts out with a story about my first scanning project and the lessons that I learned along the way. Later chapters talk about the technical decisions that I made and the hardware that I purchased. I’m a former commercial printer, and I never could have foreseen how useful that experience was in writing this book. In the last chapter, I leave you with advice about leaving a genealogy legacy. See the product images for the Table of Contents.
I wrote this book to share with you the collected scanning advice that you’ll find on my blog Past-Presence.com. While I realize that you are able to print webpages, you might prefer a reasonably priced book that is formatted and organized in a way that makes sense.
This book has been edited and updated from blogs written from 2018-2021.
NOTE: This is a digital download. No products will be shipped. Look for the orange DOWNLOAD button after payment. It’s strongly recommended you download the files to a computer, as computers have a readily findable folder called “Downloads.” It is not recommended to download the file to a smartphone – the book is not formatted to be read on a small screen, and phones will instantly lose your file. You are warned! 🙂 Kidding. If you lose your file, check Shopping FAQs, and if you still can’t find it, let me know.
