Hey Saskatchewaners (near and far, wherever you happen to be now), it’s time to reveal the SHORT LIST of genealogy contest winners.
Thank you, thank you, thank you
But first let me say how grateful I am to everyone for their help with this contest. As you can imagine, doing anything for the first time can be a bit nerve-wracking, and it’s even more intense when it’s done in the public view, like this is. I’d like to take the time to thank:
- The members of the Saskatchewan Genealogy Society, plus the members of the BC Genealogical Society
- The members of my Facebook group Genealogy for Asian Canadians, plus the members of Canadian Genealogy, Canada Genealogy Research Community, and Genealogy a la carte
- My friends, family, and clients – without you, this would be not only literally impossible, but also not a lot of fun
To everyone who submitted an entry: I was absolutely blown away by your contest entries. You wrote in with your wickedly funny family stories, or with your family histories, or with copies of your genealogy documents. I really want to do every single last one of your stories. I really, really do. But… I can only choose one. And I’m getting closer…
Today, I would like to reveal the short list of contest entry winners.
The short list
- Kelly Bode
- Agnes Bourassa
- Rhonda Cooper
- Lynn Heartwell Galbraith
In the next two weeks, I’ll be doing preliminary research on these 4 family lines. The winner of the 2018 Past Presence genealogy contest will be announced on Saturday, August 11, 2018.
