Genealogy How Tos

What’s on in January

January is heating up with events!

Genealogy planning – Genealogy with a Canadian Twist, 9 January, 8:00-9:00 pm EST (Webinar)

On Thursday, January 9th, I participated in my first-ever webinar hosted by Kathryn Lake Hogan, with panellists Lianne Krüger, Christine Woodcock, and Kaye-Prince Hollenberg. The topic was genealogy planning: what’s on your To Do list, how are you planning to get it done, and what educational opportunities are out there? What a panel, and what an honour to be in such an esteemed company of Canadian genealogists:

  1. Kathryn Lake Hogan – Looking4Ancestors
  2. Lianne Krüger – iFamilyHistory
  3. Christine Woodcock – Genealogy Tours of Scotland
  4. Kaye Prince-Hollenberg – Kaye Prince Genealogy

Salt Lake City Institute of Genealogy (SLIG) – January 12-19, 2020

And on Sunday the 12th, I leave for SLC to take Chinese Ancestry: Research Methods and Sources with Kelly Summers. It’s another first: my first genealogy conference in the USA and my first ever international genealogy conference. I am beyond excited to be getting my geek on in a major way at SLIG, which if you’ve never heard of it before, is best described as going back to school, with homework we’ll be doing at the world’s largest genealogy library: the Family History Library at Temple Square.

See you in a week!
